I live in in Wicklow, Ireland. I’m married, with a wife, two daughters and a dog.
The majority of my 25 year career was spent in the software industry focused on customer experience and customer outcomes.
I have led technical support, customer success, support account management, commercial programs, escalation management teams, and a startup team.
I believe that leadership is a craft, not a title. It’s a discipline like woodworking or coding that requires honing. I believe that a leader must have a vision, be authentic and discard any mask of superiority to be truly effective.
The cornerstone of leadership is the ability to ensure teams can collaborate effectively.
There’s no one-size-fits-all path to high-performing teams. Therefore, I don’t see myself myself as a guru, because of my experience.
I see myself as a guide who adapts to the circumstances, and modest enough to be able to take a step back and examine the alternatives when the journey requires it.
purpose
To live a life of greater purpose I made a decision to step into the world of entrepreneurship. The ventures I’ve started revolve around serving people and enabling people, teams and businesses reach their true potential.
My kids know how the ecosystem on earth relies on balance. They also have a solid grasp of the detrimental effects we’re having on the planet. I didn’t have an answer for them when they asked me:
“Why are we not doing things differently? Why don’t people change?”
So I set up a venture to enable people and businesses address the barriers to enable communities and businesses thrive sustainably.
